Gorilla

(Anthropropithecus gorilla)

The first scientific name means "man-ape", which aptly describes the "great apes". They commonly walk on their hind legs, with a little support from the knuckles of their hands. The gorilla is the largest and most powerful of the four apes in this class, over 6ft tall, and as heavy as four men.
