The bird pictured on the card seems to be one of the european variety, Carduelis Carduelis as shown in the below video. This is a significantly larger bird than its yellow American cousin. However both types are known for their bright song and somewhat shy behaviour. Gold Finches are surviors, with substantial, strong populations.Gold FinchThe Gold Finch belongs to the largest order of birds notable for their perching and singing. Should they be kept as pets it is essential, as with all other birds, they should have plenty of room to enable them to fly. Never keep any bird in a small cage.
