Indian Moccasins. The Indian shoe was called a Moccasin. The upper part as usually made of buckskin and the sole of buffalo hide. Indian women, who made the moccasins, decorated them with paint, beads, or porcupine quills. When the soles wore out the squaw sewed on new Buffalo hide soles.According to Wikipedia "A moccasin is a slipper made of deerskin or other soft leather, consisting of a sole and sides made of one piece of leather, stitched together at the top, and sometimes with a vamp (additional panel of leather). The sole is soft and flexible and the upper part often is adorned with embroidery or beading..."
